True. What I am saying is that the rightwing politicians would attack public broadcasting more viciously if more taxpayer dollars went to fund it. Even if a tiny part of the budget.
I think the current model works well to keep them at bay.

I think the larger bite of the Federal budget the more politicians will target public broadcasting.

Sponsorship refers to the funding from private businesses and institutions that is donated on the national, state and local levels. They get an acknowledgment during broadcasts.
