I love Jesus. I love my family.
I love cheese & apple pie too.. but not together, ever. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇳🇴

Psalm 73
A couple of days ago, my mom and I checked on a neighbor who had just returned from the hospital a few days previously and was still quite fragile.

Sure enough, she was in distress. As we helped her, she closed her eyes and said that this is how it should be. Women helping women.

Yesterday was my day to #fastandpray for a dear friend’s young daughter who is facing a giant of a health battle.

I feel like I failed.

I fasted, and I did #pray, but was distracted by work much of the time.

How do you do this, fellow followers of #Jesus?

My pastor said more than once, “we will get the government/leadership we deserve.”

With Monday’s 🇺🇸 transition of power in view, this should cause us all, especially those of us who pray, to ask how we got here.

No pointing fingers. Only looking inward.

It’s the season for season eczema flare-ups here. Anyone else deal with this? What are your secrets for healing?

*not pictured: I have this on the other side of my neck, eye, stomach and ankles.

I did not ask the Lord for a word, but I am pretty sure He gave me one anyway. Is it a word of the year? I don’t know.. but I do know I felt a heaviness to pray for unity.

Then dailyaudiobible.com shared their word for the year: safe. This word has deep meaning to my husband.

Hello 2025… the year that I will turn 50. What other milestones or memories do you hold for me?

And there is peace in being right where I have been called.

I love Jesus. I love my family. They are enough for me.

Worship team and women’s ministry are excellent things. Many other ministries are good too.

But being a wife and partner and support to my husband and a mother to my daughters who are preparing to leave the nest is and was where I was being called.

To be clear: in stepping down from ministry, I did not step away from Jesus. In fact, I would say that in stepping down from ministry, I was being drawn nearer to Him, nearer to my husband and daughters.

Finding a place to share raw thoughts.

A few years ago, I chose to obey God’s call to quiet and trust as I stepped away from worship/music team, women’s ministry, and sat in the congregation.

“When are you coming back?” “How long is this going to last?”

I don’t know, dear friends.
