Why are you okay with the government giving grants and then reneging on them? Leaving sick patients no other options because the government decided half way through their medical trial that they weren’t going to fund it anymore? NU has money but not enough to sustain all of the research costs.

I’m not sure how you don’t understand that public grants benefit all of us. Why do you think childhood cancer has limited type of treatments? Because it’s not profitable! For the greater good, our tax dollars help pay for students to find new medical advancements. You’d prefer they didn’t?

They are amazing institutions that were granted money by congress to research cures for diseases that the private sectors don’t find profitable. The rug was pulled out under them. Plus NU attracts very smart students. Their private funds ensure all students who are accepted can afford to attend.

Stop blaming the universities. They are in the middle of medical research and had the funds yanked from them over cultural issues. They tried to keep the research going on their own but it wasn’t sustainable. They were extorted by our government.

My kid is a student there. A letter went out to the families. I don’t like it but I understand. They were forced to pay a fine just to get the already promised money for existing research and so on. They did not give any power over the school to Trump. Just paid a fine.
