Hawai’i favorite: Loco moco, a hamburger patty over a bed of white rice with brown gravy and topped with a fried egg. This is a rather civilized looking version, they’re usually quite messy.

Here’s my eye protection that I have to wear for 2 weeks, even when I sleep. They had it taped to my face, but I tend to have allergic reactions to adhesives, so I put an elastic ribbon on instead. They put a purple mark above my eye before the surgery to be sure they were doing the correct eye.
