All of that said, there's still time. I didn't fully warm up to season 1 Ellie until episode 4. (I was put off by her sneering sarcasm. In the game, Ellie is mouthy and impudent, but she's not mean.) We'll see where the next couple of episodes go.

She ridicules Jesse's authority and defies Kat's. I'm not big on authority myself ("rules are not for thinking people" -- don't remember where I heard that), but in a post-apocalyptic world where a deadly monster could be right around any corner, going rogue can get people killed.

Oy. I was disappointed and kind of bored. Maybe it's the writing, maybe the directing, idk, but Ellie -- I don't like her. At all. She's a rash, headstrong brat. She complains that she's an adult but immediately acts like a toddler, screaming her secret to the sky.
