First Bluesky post! It’s odd, how despite being on Twitter for my entire adult life, deleting it was largely without any sort of inner turmoil. I suppose that’s the effect of being a human surrounded by bots. Regardless, it’s about time!
Sign of strange times: U.S. citizens can expect a more pleasant message on the 25th from Netflix's NFL game commentators than their president.

So far, Donald Trump’s efforts at prosecuting his perceived enemies have largely floundered—but his favorite judge may soon be in a position to change that, Marilyn W. Thompson reports.

The horrific materials in the Epstein files—combined with a chaotic release and a politicized Department of Justice—are a "recipe for inspiring potent distrust and resentment," @cwarzel.bsky.social argues:

During the holiday season, we all want to spend time with our loved ones.

And yet, just two months after buying Walgreens for $10 billion, the private equity firm Sycamore Partners stripped hourly workers of paid vacation, including Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Shameful.

The anonymous artist Banksy on Monday revealed a new mural in London, timed for the holiday season with what seems to be a message both sweet and damning, in what has become something of a Christmas tradition for the muralist.

Two new London murals, widely attributed to the mysterious street artist, combine seasonal themes with what appears to be social commentary on rising child homelessness in Britain.

Between the Epstein cover-up, 60 Minutes censorship, and too many other examples to count, it's clear to me: freedom, whether of speech, the press, or otherwise, is actively under attack.

It’s no longer hyperbolic to say this. And it scares me, not only when thinking of myself but society at large.
