I do agree but just don't know what to move on to. Signal is neck and neck on sus levels, and Discord is technically worse.

Small discord servers feel perpetually dead, but small telegram channels feel more naturally quiet for some reason. I otherwise don't really know of any alternatives. My group moved to telegram in like 2016 when skype was dying out, and that's kinda where we've been.
