@edzitron.com Dear Ed, IDK if you've had the time to go into financial history much, but if you ever want a book about the South Sea Bubble, this is the one: 'Money for Nothing' by Thomas Levenson.

Musk speaking at the Tesla shareholder meeting yesterday. He was promising mass producing robots & claimed Teslas have full self-driving yet again, neither of which are true. At what point his endless trail of lies catch up with him remains to be seen.

It's an excellent piece full of good reflections & advice. I just wanted to say I wouldn't worry too much about what Schopenhauer thinks. He takes an aspect of reality & says 'This - suffering - is Reality'. He's elevating his own temperament, personality & experience into a philosophic system.

I've just looked 'Cyberselfish' up on the Internet Archive. Like you say it's funny, prescient & startlingly relevant.

Such sad news about Robert Redford. So many great performances, so many great films he was involved with, as well as his other contributions to the good of the world. A particular favourite of mine is his film 'Quiz Show', brilliant on every level.

I saw these ads which perfectly illustrate your point about fintech 'banks' which are not actually banks, & have to operate in conjunction with real banks.
