I remember when the rightwing rags used to say how Princess Charlotte was so clever speaking more than one language at a young age- Spanish at 2, I think it was.
Speaking languages is another thing that’s “eeewww” when you’re poor or not white and “wow” when you’re rich or white.

When I see the 40% tax on the entire bit of extra work, kick in every year, yes I do ask myself why do I mark for the exam boards…..😖

Why is MFL always the one kicked??
Such a shame.

I feel like I’m losing MY mind over the state of the media here in some parts.
The gaslighting is off the scale.
It’s so exhausting watching the bad guys keep getting away with stuff.

Gov proposing students must take 2/3 of the breadth compulsory categories, *knowing full well* Category C: Languages will be the one avoided.
Well done.
🙄
Labour Education gonna Labour.
Tiresome.

Love “turn and talk”. Also give students some words on the board to use in their discussions, I also like to include a “rogue” one which doesn’t belong, to make sure that they’re thinking hard 👏🏻

and removing EBacc which read like “none of you really took languages anyway”.

No, all other half terms are 1 week.
Yes the 2 week half term in the autumn is so needed, with all the sickness and bugs!
November 2, 2025 at 9:31 PM
It varies across our Trust. Things like 8.30-3.30 etc.
Stats have shown we have decreased staff absence and sickness in the Autumn term as a result. It’s deffo a big sell for R&R too! This is our 3rd year of doing it 👏🏻

Did you get the their email Wednesday evening saying they’ve pulled the 12/17 requirements?
October 24, 2025 at 7:18 AM
They did!
So any changes that could be coming, would be the 3rd version….🫠
October 24, 2025 at 7:17 AM
They did! And I’ve just as of this morning had an email survey from them where we can put our ideas forward!
What a farce!!!

So sorry to read Jasmine feels this way but sadly I’m not surprised. I’ve felt it. Being from NI and living and working in England (18yrs I might add!) I have had comments about my accent and been questioned on why I’m here.
🤷🏻‍♀️
