Martha Hyer is my favorite character. Shirley gets the showier role but she knows herself and who she is. It’s Hyer that doesn’t know herself at all and gets the most tragic, complicated role. That scene when she meets Shirley and is disgusted by her is my favorite in the film.

Yeah, he’s an asshole about women lol.
