Me, a few weeks ago: I'd like to vist Chateau de Fontainbleau some time
My husband: We've been there, like ten years ago
Me: No we haven't, I would remember!

My photo library, today: Hey, what's this from 2015?

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekOforOpulent
iPhone 4S, thus the terrible quality
An opulent bedroom with a huge gilded canopy bed. There's a gilded railing separating the bed area from the rest of the room. In the foreground are two gilded padded armchairs. The walls are covered in brocade silk, the ceiling is heavily decorated with gilded ornaments. A big gilded crystal chandelier is hanging from the ceiling.

Our honeysuckle did an encore in late September (this photo was taken on the 21st). The scent was stronger than ever, even in daytime, and the flowers lasted for three weeks or so.

A honeysuckle blossom with pale pink-yellow-white flowers against a background of honeysuckle leaves. There are a few of more blossoms further back, out of focus.

We don't have a lot of blue skies this time of year, so here's one from May.

This forest has been recently thinned out, hence the sparse monoculture of European red pine in the foreground.

#BlueSkyMonday #forest #EastCoastKin
A photo looking up at an angle in a sparse pine forest. The sky is clear blue.

I'm not quite ready to let go of summer yet, so here's a photo from July.

#Stunday #lake #photography #EastCoastKin
A lake with some lily pads and reeds. The forest on the opposite side of the lake is reflected in the water. The sky is partly cloudy.

Pareidolia - when you see patterns, like animals or faces, when there are none.

Although this time I’m quite certain there was a cute dinosaur monster in the forest.
(February 2019)

#ForestFriday
A photo of a long necked dinosaur or monster head with a large eye and green hair poking out of the ground in a leafless deciduous forest. Some would however claim that the monster head is just an oddly shaped tree stump.

You mean the photo modes in the camera? They’re just a bit more hidden, you can scroll to the left or right to get them.

My phone also feels laggy, and I think it drains my battery which was already bad 😞 My phone is old, maybe they’re trying to force people with old phones to get new ones.

omg those must be some other kind than the ones in our garden. The just turn into black goo.

I just updated my iphone to iOS 26, and the new visual effects are horrible 😫 I’ve turned off as many as I can in the accessibility settings, but it still feels icky.

So here’s a rather bleak January mood from 2013 to “celebrate” the “update”.

#ThickTrunkTuesday #Trees
A silhouette of oak branches with a little snow on top against a depressingly grey sky.

Fallen leaves on a lake, September 5th 2013.

I’m surprised there were so many red and yellow leaves so early in September. We’re nowhere near this yet, and it’s almost October.

#Fall #Autumn #Photography #Stunday
Fallen leaves floating on water. the leaves are varying colours from green to red and even some brown, creating a colourful random pattern.

The road where the whole neighbourhood takes their Sunday walks. On my jog today I met four other people jogging and three dog walkers.

Photo taken in July 2025

#BlueSkyArtShow #TheRoad #EastCoastKin #Sunset
A road going straight ahead, with trees and bushes on both sides. There’s a speed bump on the road and no sidewalks. A pylon and power lines take up a lot of the visual space against the sky. The sky is clear and it’s just after sunset, so it’s pink and yellow at the horizon.

Morning glories look so cool when the sunlight hits them from the side and makes the center light up like a torch.

#FlowersOnFriday #FlowerFriday #Bloomscrolling #Bloomsky #Gardening #Flowers
A dark purple morning glory flower with light falling in from behind and through the white center, making it shine.

My husband and his grandmother in 2018. I think she was 96 in this photo.

My husband wanted me to take a photo of them, but it took a while to get her to look into the camera. I like this one better though.

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekMforMemories #HumansOfBluesky
My husband, a white man with light brown hair in his 40’s, holding his arm around the shoulder of his grandmother, a small short old woman with white hair. She’s dressed in brown trousers and a checkered shirt, and wears green rubber boots. She’s holding a pair of Nordic Walking sticks in her free hand. My husband and his grandmother are looking at each other. She looks like she’s laughing at something he’s just said. He’s smiling at her but also frowning a bit because the sun is getting in his eyes. They’re standing on a half overgrown path in a green lawn. A white house can be seen in the background behind some trees.

Good morning! There was a NATO drill on Gotland yesterday, and I’m realising it’s less than half an hour away by helicopter (we’ve watched the ambulance helicopters on flightradar).

Anyway, here’s the underside of a moth sitting on a window, for #InsectThursday

#moths #butterflies #insects
A brown moth of some kind, sitting on a window with its wings spread out to the sides. It’s photographed from the other side of the window so that you see the underside. Since the window is transparent it becomes invisible, and it looks like the moth is sitting in the air.

Good morning! Here’s a recently photographed rose for #RoseWednesday

#BllomSky #BloomScrolling #FlowerReport #Roses #Flowers
Three blossoms of a light pink rose. One is fully open, two only partially. The flowers are fairly small with many layers of rounded petals.

I noticed my feeds haven't been updating for ten days or so. It looks like the SFW filter in the feed builder platform has turned very prudish, so I turned it off.

I also added new hashtags to some of the feeds.
np-photos.bsky.social
And there I hit 1K followers 🥳

I think a lot of them are inactive though. Most are mutuals, but I don’t get half as much content on my Following feed as I’d expect when following so many people.

Good morning Bluesky! Here’s a pigeon mural by The Highness for #TagTuesday

It’s so lifelike and I love how it looks like it’s standing in the grass!

Photographed at Snösätra, Stockholm in 2021.

#StreetArt #Snösätra
A lifelike mural painting of a pigeon on an old plastered wall. The ground in front of the wall is covered in grass and weeds. There’s a signature in pink reading The Highness below the pigeon.

Maybe I should ask them to sign a log with the date and test result 🤔

And just while I was posting this some sales guy knocked hard on the door. I pointed out that we have a doorbell, told him I’m not interested, and closed the door in his face.

Why do they all pound on the door instead of using the doorbell nowadays? Now my day is a bit worse.

Finally a new week! Last week wasn’t good at all, and I’m so glad to be rid of it.

Here’s a small unidentified fungus in moss for #MushroomMonday and #MossMonday

Sorry about the pine needles. Photo taken in 2020.

A small white fungus with branches and tiny spikes, growing in green moss.

A perfectly still narrow lake (actually a stream with a dam that creates the lake, but that isn’t obvious from just the photo since the dam is under the bridge I was standing on), with forest on the sides. The coniferous trees are green, with some brown deciduous trees mixed in. The perfect reflection in the lake is darker. The sky is completely overcast.

A photo I never thought I’d use. Now it fits two prompts at once.

#BlueSkyArtShow #Angles #AlphabetChallenge #WeekLforLines
An electricity pylon with a lot of lines, in grey weather. Two other pylons can be seen behind it in the distance.

Happy #ForestFriday everyone! I’ve posted a couple of photos of this area before, but I don’t think I’ve posted this exact photo.

August 2023 near Stockholm, Sweden.

#scape #naturephotography #EastCoastKin #moss #forest
A spruce forest where the ground is covered in lush green moss. A few of the trees have fallen and are leaning on other trees. Sunlight filters through the canopy and casts bright spots on the forest floor.
