Wearing a 30yo “pellizca” coat today. Was a gift from my parents when I left home for uni in the cold Madrid.

I don’t use it often now, but when I do I always get a bit nostalgic

As always, on the eve of 6 January, we are preparing to receive the Three Kings and their tired camels. Through snow this year!

Lovely supermoon today 🌕

Helped me with my resolution to find at least one beautiful thing per day this year, among all of the dross.

For my mental health’s sake I hope to keep this resolution 🤞🏼

I'm excited about our recent mini-collection on #interoception!

Our Editorial highlights four pieces showcasing the breadth of the field: hepatic, gut and cardiorespiratory interoception & an exploration of how this could all inform “Whole Person Health”

Starting the final leg of my journey to the @embl.org symposium “The Human Microbiome”

It’s been a surprisingly long travel day! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone there, and to Heidelberg itself, where I lived 9yrs. It’s always a pleasure to visit

Come say hello this week!

Just back from Spain and demoralized at what passes for produce in the UK.

Are all plants bonsai now?

Full prize for miniature tomatoes (wrapped in plastic) and toy-sized aubergines 😰

One of the most important men of my life, the one without whom I would not be here, was born 85 years ago today. Happy birthday dad, thanks for so much!

Really happy that I got to be with him on his birthday ❤️

Spent a few days in the #Pyrenees, #hiking and visiting goergeous villages. Beautiful and highly recommended- almost empty this time of the year and weather was perfect.

Gordon doesn’t let us post about the science, so apologies but you get only photos of the beautiful setting.

Excellent talks today - diversity of topics and systems.

Hans Georg Krausslich introduced HIV in the 4th session, which must be a record. Great talk!

kicks off the #GRCvirus 2025 meeting.

Exciting few days of virus research, split almost equally between DNA, RNA viruses and a few other (ahem, looking at you retros).

It's a great, vibrant crowd
