America cannot long remain free, nor first among nations, if it becomes the kind of place where universities are dismantled because they don't align politically with the current head of the government.

Not to get too political, but I seriously think people severely underestimate the amount of work that goes into creating and preserving democratic institutions. Every freedom we have come to know today has been attained through rigorous efforts in the past, and yet it appears we have forgotten that.
