- Minimum age to be president is 35
- Presidential election is in November
- AOC will be 35 a month before

Someone make this happen

I don't see how the visions are different/incompatible, they have separate purposes and serve different use cases. The point of the crypto space is that it's supposed to encompass more than just one vision (+ I'd classify nostr as just as much Web3 as I would farcaster/mastodon)

I find most Nostr clients to generally load events/notes faster than a lot of other platforms which just give unhelpful loading spinners. Maybe try picking relays closer to your location or with lower latency?

Depends. Iris desktop, website, and mobile all have significantly different experiences, despite being pretty much the same thing. I use it on desktop though there's plenty of alternatives for all platforms: Primal, Coracle, Amethyst, Gossip, Damus (if iOS) are all very popular and awesome

I'm interested in Farcaster, but the main client for it seems to be Warpcast which I can't get past the signup flow on (either through using an existing/generating a new seed phrase)

Is fiat currency not money either since it requires no productive labour to produce? I'd be all for abolishing that as well
June 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM
If we can't exponentially increase the quantity of resources we produce, then why exponentially increase the quantity of money available to purchase those resources? Over time, that money turns itself 'fake'.

A finite world needs a finite currency.

Efficiency happens in its own time once the realisation comes that there isn't enough oil to fuel every car. Or maybe some incredible new high-tech paradigm comes around, like.. transportation methods that don't need cars? Which, if we want people to use, we'll also need the energy to power.
June 25, 2024 at 11:13 AM
If we want to increase the quantity of resources like energy available per capita, we'll either need to
- Keep increasing the amount of energy production
- Stop increasing the amount of people
and humanity still can't seem to understand the latter. I can settle for quadratic energy growth though.

Putting "the fact" before two irrelevant and incorrect statements also doesn't change.. the fact that they aren't... facts

Assume I buy some food and it deteriorates before I'm able to use it. It's wasted, and I pay the cost by not being able to get the use out of it, not by the seller finding out I didn't use it and charging me more afterwards.

Why should the latter be used for energy? Tax at the source.

Because it's the same watt, and has the same end outcome: 99% of it gets turned into heat. Any watt going to a building owned by an organisation most likely ends up being used in a heating system, any watt going to my house and being used by a bitcoin miner helps to heat my house just the same.
June 22, 2024 at 2:48 AM
The energy grid is unique in this scenario in that problems are more likely if supply doesn't exactly match demand 100% of the time. Bitcoin mining is in a unique position here as it can act as a counterweight during grid constraint, imagine it as the stability of nuclear + flexibility of wind/solar

Don't dare let any ostensible government spy anti-progressivist agents try to derail debates regarding societal energy usage with insults while we're on the path to a solar-system-spanning civilisation!
