Seems about right seeing that they didn’t really address much in the offseason. They have an affordable superstar, and a young, effective pitching staff. And it’s being wasted.

I’m not sure that’s where I’d invest if I were San Jose. Now Braden Schneider? I’d check the Rangers asking price, if he’s on the market.
January 29, 2026 at 1:39 PM
Nor do I. That was a very stupid, very costly taunting penalty.
January 26, 2026 at 1:58 AM
Pretty good response, though.

I’m not a big Roberts fan. Maybe the change of scenery proves me wrong. In any event, if he’s bad the Mets can absorb that mistake. If he’s good it didn’t cost much in the way of talent.
January 21, 2026 at 10:50 AM
Sounds like they dodged an overpriced bullet.
January 11, 2026 at 5:44 PM
Cubs sign Bregman while the Reds thrift shop. With a young talented pitching staff, and Elly before he gets his half a billion contract, the Reds are still reluctant to make moves to compete in a very winnable division.
January 11, 2026 at 11:40 AM
Yahoo article speculated Petty, Aguiar, Williamson and Reds get Roberts +$10m.

Oft injured. Underwhelming numbers. I wouldn’t give up much to get him.
December 21, 2025 at 5:24 PM
I really liked watching BP play.
December 16, 2025 at 7:03 PM
I was aware that ESPN ever acknowledged the Reds’ existence.
December 11, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Man the Mets fans are pissed. As a Reds fan it’s hard to sympathize with a team that has a $300M payroll.

To be honest, I think it was the 5 years that the Mets had no interest in. Everything else seems like conjecture.
December 10, 2025 at 7:10 PM
I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re in on Tucker and/or Bellenger.
December 10, 2025 at 6:22 PM
They didn’t want to go 5 years is what’s being reported locally. David Sterns reportedly wants to focus on run prevention and Alonso wasn’t good defensively.
December 10, 2025 at 6:21 PM
You were closer to correct. Looks like 5 yrs-$155 from Baltimore. Mets fans won’t be happy. They’re still surly over Diaz going to LA.
December 10, 2025 at 6:01 PM
It’s both a horrible way to operate a baseball team and a deal I’m okay with them not matching. But I dont think I’d go 5 years for Schwarber. 3 yrs at a slightly higher annual rate? Sure.
December 9, 2025 at 8:15 PM
And he’s going back to Philly. 5-$150.
December 9, 2025 at 4:20 PM
Hot stove has become insufferable. Here in NY, every player is linked to the Mets and Yankees.
December 9, 2025 at 2:29 PM
No mention of KRISP? 😂
December 8, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Do the fans that despised Adam Dunn also dislike the idea of Schwarber? They have very similar profiles.
December 8, 2025 at 4:09 PM
My issue is that the rankings were a farce. If Miami was better than ND, why did the committee not rank them that way? The NCAA created this mess. And I don’t blame teams for declining exhibition bowl games. Half the players opt out because they’re going to the draft or the transfer portal.
December 7, 2025 at 10:20 PM
No surprises. I thought Hays would put up better numbers in GABP. Barlow was disappointing.
November 6, 2025 at 2:23 PM
Enjoy Elly while he’s here. Don’t see any way that they’ll sign him long term.
November 4, 2025 at 8:29 PM
Best player I’ve ever seen. Unreal.
