It says 'beneficial copyright owner,' but in most cases, the anthologist and publisher do not own the copyright to the included stories, right?

I can't figure this out. When you sell a story, you sell one-time (or first) publication rights but retain the copyright. How would that mean the editor or publisher had the right to reprint it indefinitely? Is that just about the ability to continue printing an anthology until it's out of print?

WOW. This survey of Americans found that 1 in 14 adults have been present at a mass shooting where 4 or more people were shot.

(And 1 in 50 has been *injured* in a mass shooting, by being shot, trampled, or another related injury.)

This level of violence is basically unimaginable to 🇨🇦.
