Mennonite-raised. I get told "no" a lot. I'm finishing a math degree I started 20 years ago. I pretend to be a maned wolf-shaped tree on the Internet. You've used stuff I've worked on.

Trans rights are human rights.

I'm @nrr1.618033989 on Signal.
I also write left-handed, and let me tell you: not feeling the writing utensil or your palm resting against the page is the weirdest fucking thing.

Yeah, basically.

I like to think that the fact he's following Stonetoss and Charlie Kirk's widow is a pretty positive signal that he's in with the fash set.

It might. I'm less clear on how all of that works, but you should be able to mitigate Fast Startup by either (1) holding down Shift while shutting down Windows from the Start menu; or (2) using `shutdown.exe /s /t 0` at a command prompt.

If you happen to have a RecoveryPasswordProtector on that volume already (very likely), something like `(Get-BitLockerVolume -MountPoint "C:").KeyProtector | Where-Object {$_.KeyProtectorType -eq "RecoveryPassword"}` should give you something you can write down to use with Dislocker.
December 28, 2025 at 10:18 PM
There should be if you add a RecoveryPasswordProtector or PasswordProtector to the volume first. Dislocker only works with those two schemes.

The Add-BitLockerKeyProtector cmdlet can help with that. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powers...

However, read on first.

Your OS drive could be BitLockered and tied to your TPM and not actually have a decryption password.

In PowerShell, you can usually interrogate an individual volume's key protection scheme by, e.g., `(Get-BitLockerVolume -MountPoint "C:").KeyProtector`.

Corollary: leaning into modern monetary theory because the talk of taxation destroying the money supply has me being sickos.png.

the technique that wooten is using here is commonly known in gospel circles as double thumbing. it's like slap if, instead of bouncing off the string, you played through it to land on the next string.

a lot of bass is played fingerstyle anyway, but this makes it more like playing with a pick.
December 27, 2025 at 10:29 PM
I probably won't go through with any of that (and in fact might replace my Pd effects stack with something more commercial), but it's interesting that the possibility of just hackerware-ing this exists.
December 27, 2025 at 10:04 PM
I subscribe more to the MMT view; namely, taxes are a means by which the state destroys part of the money supply.

It feels more poetic when applied to the socioeconomic stratum that has taken to hoarding that money supply or doing utterly fucked up shit with it.

The fact that file IDs are 16 bytes on ReFS and 8 bytes on NTFS is kind of lol to me though. This means ReFS doesn't have object IDs; the heuristic to tell one from the other relies on length.

How do you do object tracking there? Do you just, like, not? Is it just the land of linkrot?

on a lumens-per-watt basis, LEDs are actually typically higher intensity than high-pressure sodium and metal halide lamps, and that's without getting into the need for non-LED lamps to have reflectors, which incur some loss.

there's an incentive for over-illumination with the energy savings.

Yeah, precinct 2. He was less than 10 votes away from winning 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9.

That said, since the demographics have 61A as being something like 80-85% white, I'm entirely unsurprised about the wealth aspect. (It also means that his strategy would apply less to IL-19 like where Kat is running.)
