confused about where contrapoints assigns agency, in her post. democrats supported a genocide - but it is the left's opposition to that genocide that helped reelect trump? the left distributing pictures and videos of atrocities in gaza has people in a rage - but what about the atrocities themselves?

the way people are talking about the backlash gives me the impression that these arguments aren't being considered; maybe bc people genuinely haven't seen them, or maybe because they're also being interpreted as "takedowns" and not political criticism?

there is a toxic fringe, and there always will be, but there's also people like hasan, badempanada, kavernacle, shaun, big joel, and others, people who've been involved, at least in part, with online pro palestine media coverage, and whose criticisms towards Contrapoints' post were (imo) substantive

not coming for FD here, i agree that fringe vindictive online voices are unhelpful (and ultimately liberal, as FD rightly points out) but like, I wish we didn't have to center these voices in a conversation about liberal zionist rhetoric from a major "online left" creator
