2026 schedule. 5-game rolling average for NSC opponents' form.

🟡Tough start. Especially with CCC

🔵Easy run around the World Cup break

🟡Dog days of summer will be BRUTAL

🔵Stay alive during the end of summer, and it's an easy run through the end

On Saturday, Tony Husband (Or was it Ross Smith?) compared Eddi to Diego Chara

Here's Eddi over the past year compared to Chara's All-Star season of 2019. Definitely some similarities

Rolling xG:

A 7-goal outing will have the GF sky high for a while. But, it looks like 50 goals wasn't a high enough target.

Defense has been good. Part of that is a softer schedule.

NSC has the best xGD in the East. This team could push for top 4

Sam Surridge doesn't get enough credit for his ability to score in bunches.

Since he signed in the summer of 2023, he has 5 MLS games with multiple goals.

Only 5 players have more during that timeframe
Bouanga
Benteke
Arango
Messi
Suarez

Can we chill out now?

Surridge is an average finisher. He was always going to be fine. I just didn't expect him to regress to the mean in 1 game. But 4 goals from 5 shots will do it.

He's now 1 goal off from the lead in the Golden Boot race

There have been 21 goals in the last 5 Nashville SC games

That is the 2nd most in a 5 game stretch in club history. Bested only by the stretch below 👇 in 2022
April 28, 2025 at 1:39 AM
2024 shots per game compared to 2025

NSC is creating 3.6 Good+ chances per game in 2025 compared to only 2.3 in 2024

I dont think the NSC forwards are bad finishers. In 2024, they just didn't get enough chances and 1 miss was back-breaking. That isn't true in 2025

The Nashville SC u16 matchup against the LA Galaxy in the round of 16 will be broadcasted live on the MLS YouTube channel at 9am tomorrow

This is one of the few opportunities to watch the academy without attending a match in person

The 16s won their group and are in to GA Cup knockout round with a MASSIVE win over FCD

FCD u16s were ranked #2 on TopDrawer

Bayasiima and Stribling are both playing up an age group and came through for the team

Look at that. NSC has unlocked the left side

Eddi was fantastic on the left with 11 Progressive Passes

NSC continues to put a wall around their box with good bend don’t break defense

Even when we got blitzed early RSL’s best chance was .15 xG and it went in

The table below explains why I dont think Hany is "struggling" Just that his role has changed

It's been his best chance creation and ball progressing season

Hes starting the attack rather than finishing it. We could get him more involved in the final product, but do we want to?
April 9, 2025 at 2:32 PM
Hanys xG maps from fast build-up play via mlsstats on BS

The leading cause of his goal-scoring drop-off has been a lack of opportunities on the break

Every Good+ chance from fast play has been taken by Surridge except 1

The key to unlocking Hany is unlocking him on the counter

Everything I look at makes the result more frustrating.

CLT didn't create ANYTHING until Zim went down

2 heartbreaking stoppage-time losses are rough, but NSC created at least one good chance after going behind. It's going to pay off eventually

For those wondering how this applies to NSC specifically

Compared to teams with less than 75% of min played by returning players, they have the best 2025 xGD and the largest improvement from 2024

Getting BJ in early and moves made quickly has led to an impressive, quick start
April 2, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Offseason failures

69% and 89% of #SportingKC and #TFCLive ’s minutes are by returning players. They also retained their coach from 2024. They are 2 of 3 teams with a negative xGD/90 in 2024 who have not improved in 2025.

I’m not sure what they expected to happen
April 2, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Rebuilds have been relatively successful

4 out of the 6 worst teams in 2024 have had less than 61% of their minutes in 2025 played by returning players. All 6 have seen improvement

The other 2 teams, #AllforCITY and ATX, kept the roster but had an offseason coaching change.
April 2, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Moving in the wrong direction

RSL, Portland, Cincy, LAFC, and DC United had a positive xGD in 2024 and have had less than 75% of their minutes played by returning players. All 5 teams have a worse xGD/90 to start 2025

Slow start or the wrong off-season moves?
April 2, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Consistency keeps the floor high

Every team with 80%+ of their minutes played by returning players is above -.5 xG, including TFC...

Five out of eight teams with 80% or more of their minutes played by returning players have a positive xGD/90.
April 2, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Next, let's view how teams with the highest turnover are performing in 2025 compared to 2024

Who has been the most successful in their rebuild, and who refused to change

Below is the % of minutes played by returning players and 2025 xGD/90 minus 2024 xGD/90

Consistency has mostly been rewarded.

7 of the 10 teams who have had 80% or more of their 2025 MLS minutes played by returning players have a positive xGD/90
April 2, 2025 at 7:32 PM
The nine teams with the highest turnover from 2024 all have an xGD/90 above -0.5, but only FCD has a positive xGD/90 in 2025.

#EveryoneN and #DTID are the only two teams with less than 75% of their minutes played by returning players while still achieving an xGD greater than 0.
April 2, 2025 at 7:32 PM
2025 xGD/90 compared to the percentage of minutes played by returning players.

In a league where roster turnover is encouraged, let's examine how teams with the highest turnover are performing and whether consistency correlates with better early-season results.

Shooting Tables
It's pretty straightforward: 5 shots over .15 xg, 0 goals Hany 2x, Muyl, and Sam all missed a big chance

The deserve-to-win meter loves Nashville as well Cincy weren't incredible.

It was a good defensive showing for NSC besides a pen and FK
March 30, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Lets check in on the rolling xG

NSC has been playing at an elite level over the last 5 games

9 goals from 9.1 xG over the last 5 games with 3 missed PKs is kinda crazy

NSC's xGD/90 this season is still 3rd best in the East.

Last night was just a road bump
March 30, 2025 at 4:07 PM
npxG/Shot and # of Shots for every NSC player this season.

Najar should be more selective with his shooting. From 2021 to 23, he didn't score from outside the box.

Zim is still a weapon on set pieces. Muyl, Qasem and Surridge are right where you want them
