I just had an interview with Al Jazeera about the Arakan Army’s (AA) crimes against the Rohingya.
A 19-year-old, who said he spent five months with the AA after being forcibly recruited as a labourer, said Rohingya were often sent to the front line as “human shields”.

On May 2, 2024, the Arakan Army (AA) massacred at least 600 Rohingya in Htan Shauk Kan (Hoinya Seeri) village, Buthidaung Township. Among the victims were babies, children, pregnant women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

While the people of Myanmar are suffering and local and international rescue efforts are ongoing, the military junta has continued to carry out airstrikes and artillery strikes on civilian areas across the country. Since the earthquake, there have been 20 such attacks.

An earthquake in Myanmar caused the collapse of approximately 60 mosques. Today, Muslims in the country celebrate Eid with heavy hearts. As mosques are being destroyed, Muslims are offering #EidAlFitr prayer in the streets.

A true hero, Mohammed Belal, a brave Bangladesh Border Guard, sacrificed his life rescuing Rohingya from a sinking boat in the Naf River. His courage, humanity, and selflessness will never be forgotten. May Almighty Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah.
