As a paid subscriber of one of the newsletters mentioned in the article, I suspect another aspect not mentioned in the article is a growing base of subscribers requesting to move. I sent such feedback myself and regularly saw requests in comments from folks not wanting to give Substack money.

I've been trying to figure out how some of them were passing background checks. They aren't is likely the answer. Plausible deniability means someone is getting paid to hire them and presumably certifying them as qualified. This is stupid and illegal. It also explains so much.

Probably 3ish years ago I saw a video saying it was a small regional dialectic thing but I hear it all the time, everywhere now. Possible it spread quickly due to pervasiveness of video?

I switched to US Mobile over a year ago. $15/mth. Technically it’s lower tier data speeds but I don’t notice a difference. There’s a $15 international package I buy when needed. I won’t be going back to postpaid.
