I'm on your team, and I hope you're right. But I don't think we live in history, and relying on that and other norms to save us is why we fail. We may need to administer a harsher punishment for their bad behavior.

That's charitable to ownership, they clearly weren't going to the numbers they'd need to in order to land those guys. So *are* they willing? If something costs $100 and you're willing to pay $70 for it, I don't know if you're really willing to buy it...

I'm not sure I understand - the Sox didn't get either of those guys. Their angle really should be Braves-esque and give long term deals to the guys they love in the pipeline (Anthony and Campbell specifically, Mayer is iffy given his health record)
