I once found one in the trash at work. Threw it in my shed and forgot about it. One day I couldn’t find one so I grabbed it. It worked fine. After 15 years in the shed. Just needed new probes.

I see the point but in the states there aren’t really any other options that I felt were worth my money. I wanted to buy American. I couldn’t get a bolt (and now glad I didn’t). Elon made more money than he ever got from me in less time it took me to write this.

I have 3 and I love them… but still hate Elon. If he kept his thoughts to himself and stopped trying to f with everyone things would be a lot better.

I have a filter thingy but I’ve never actually had to clean it. It gets a little gross but nothing close to plugging it.

Messing with c64s as a kid I remember some had a metal shield above the PCB with fingers that touched most of the chips with a blob of heat sink grease. It was messy. Not sure if it mattered I have some that have possibly 1 mil hours on them.

Kinda agree - the Tesla one won’t work without the app since the app does the BT traffic. It would be nice if there was a standard just built into the phone OS for keys like that.

Can you enroll one fob for more than one car? That’s a neat thing about the card type. And they are easy to disable too.

I have to say it works 99.9% of the time for me, in 2.5 years maybe once it flaked out on me.

lol fair enough. My sister is leasing a 2026 ionic 5 and doesn’t use it either. I have one THOSE EVs and use it all the time with the card as a backup.
