I only found out bc I was listening to cardinal calls on Merlin (which is, of course, a very normal thing one does) and there were different recordings for long-crested northern cardinals at the bottom. So of course I had to look them up :)

I haven’t seen much x-files, so I know nothing about this episode, but get what you mean about subverting tropes.

There’s too much winking at the audience, “do you see what we did there” in a lot of this meta trope stuff nowadays. It’s so annoying.

Yeah, even if it’s not meant as a threat, posting stills from a snuff video is fucked up.

It’s mind breaking how videos of murder are now acceptable on social media. And I know a still isn’t all that, but we’ve become way too damn comfortable with it.
