Over the weekend I wrapped up p14 of issue 2 of my #comicbook Cannibal Crime.

I felt, as I made this page, how much faster and more proficient at #illustration I have become since I started this journey of doing all the #art alongside the writing for my story.

A much better showing for my #reading #goal this past week with #manga absolutely taking the edge in quality of art and story over #comicbooks , even though they're #imageomics which tends to provide reliable story quality (and it was good just not AS good.)

I haven't been on Tumblr in an infinity of yeras. But every time an absolute DOGSHIT take about pro wrestling comes across my feed, it invariably has its roots on Tumblr.

I can agree with this in principal, having ADHD and making comics, but there are also downsides to the combo. Like one page can take a long fucking time because I either lose interest in that specific page when I hit too many errors or too detailed a section etc.

I am regularly hearing news from injured #AEW talent about how well the company has treated them while hurt.

Building good will and loyalty from talent, who will return it in kind, is what I like to see in wrestling. Gone are the days where injured talent get released. Typically.

While future creators may have attempted to obfuscate the involvement of the licensed material in Machine Man's origin as he made further appearances, this "foot in the door" moment basically becomes a wide open door with other licenses, such as #Godzilla or #Transformers or #ROM

Compare that to the 2001: A Space Odyssey license, which while ostensibly an anthology series about the Monoliths and their effects, set outside the main Marvel Universe for much of its run, ends up introducing X-51, who only gained stable sentience from the Monolith, and stays in the 616

#ImageComics delivered solid work in the 2nd issue of Ghost Pepper and man Nightow just shows why he's a master of #Manga in this volume of BBB. #DarkHorse better get BBB B2B licensed soon, I'm catching up despite prices being high.

Many, arguably most, of their.l8c3nsed com8cs existed in their own universes, distinctly separate from the Marvel U.

Take, for instance, #StarWars - it never featured any Marvel characters and despite countless new characters being created for teh comics, left no strays behind afterwards.

So, in the 70s and 80s #Marvel did the strangest thing with a selection of their licensed property #comicbooks - they set them firmly inside the Marvel Superhero Universe.

#MarvelComics in the 70s and 80s, for a brief glorious few titles, had the wildest approach to licensed properties, which has led to some of my favourite industry shenanigans and weird in-continuity relics.
