I really hated how ineffectual they portrayed the resistance… I mean 30 years of fighting and virtually nothing changed.

40k or so Americans die on roadways each and every year - not including injuries and property damage. 95% or so of all auto crashes are caused by human error.
So, yes, computers are and will always be safer than human drivers. Just gonna take a generation to adapt and let policy catch up to tech.
