He keeps hearing "acuity" test and thinks it's "IQ" test.

"ACUITY" is the word he doesn't know. He thinks his "acuity tests" are "IQ" tests because that's the closest sounding word in his shriveled brain. He's a dunce.

True, humidity is the enemy of swamp coolers. This is why I made an app for swamp cooler owners that uses the weather forecast data to help show when a swamp cooler will work well. As you say, low-humidity is the key. Under 40% relative humidity is a good rule of thumb for effective cooling.

I love the efficiency of swamp coolers so much that I made an app, "Evaporative Cooler Forecaster" to show when they work well and how much energy and money you can save. There's even ten years of historical weather data for your location in the Savings tab. Hope it helps!

It's feeling the same here in Palm Springs, CA. I actually made an app: "Evaporative Cooler Forecaster" (free in the app stores) for showing when swamp coolers work or not using your weather forecast. It also shows how much you can save($$!). I hope it helps!

It's so satisfying to DIY repair a swamp cooler. I've made a couple repairs to mine over the years. Simple designs work so well. I actually spent the last 2+ years working on an app to help know when a cooler will work. You might want to try it out: SwampCooler.app It's free (ad-supported) for 🍎🤖

That's exactly why I made an app for swamp coolers, it's called Evaporative Cooler Forecaster! You can find it in the app stores (free, limited ads), or link through: swampcooler.app

My swamp cooler really helps with asthma. I just love the summer here in SoCal when it's dry out and the cooler is super-effective and sometimes even make me a little chilly 😀.

21,000,000 million actually = 21,000,000,000,000 people, or 21 trillion. Impeach the illiterate and math-illiterate orange hitler-wannabe!

Swamp coolers are like an awesome life hack for cooling. 😎 I wish more people who live in dry climates knew about them.

And retro- this is how they used to work before electric fans (and electricity mains) were widely available. Swamp coolers were often a DIY affair, straw, chicken wire and a box frame, set up in a window, with a water pail on top, or someone with garden hose duty to spray it down occasionally.
