I can't tell you how many LED streetlights I see now that are either purple, or flickering at a dangerous level.

Usually it's the streetlights that have the purple failure mode, and the lights on the side of commercial buildings (stores and stuff) that have the strobing flickering lights.

Ironically, night driving has become harder in my experience, *because* of LEDs. When you're on the receiving end of those beams... fuck. Whether it's oncoming cars or the F250 behind you, doesn't matter, that shit is *too* bright.

There's such a thing as too much of a good thing.

I mean they could make an economical assembly replacement if they wanted to. LEDs are cheap. They're just a PCB with lights and maybe a microcontroller on em. They just don't want to make them cheap. They want their delicious juicy huge margins and being forced to buy from them

Right; I was looking at a Hyundai Venue or a Subaru Impreza recently and the base models mentioned having halogen lights instead of LEDs, and I thought to myself... that's an upgrade in my eyes 😂

Any tips on what to buy that isn't filled with this garbo? I've only ever been driving min 10+ year old rebuild beaters for the past 15 years.

Apparently many new cars (of various makes) don't even have replaceable bulbs anymore. You have to replace the entire LED assembly at something like minimum $400. I love the future so much

Someone did this to me, too. Multiple times, was two people working together actually. It just kept going and going and I spent months putting out fires and contacting (unaware) artists.

It's an incredibly traumatizing experience. I would never wish it upon anyone. I'm sorry 🫂
