(She/her) Clinical nutrition is my jam. Weight neutrality. I often fall into research rabbit holes. Former chef. Queer ND squirrel. Trans rights must be protected - fight these fucksticks. I love my fur beasts and my kiddos. Peoria, Illinois.
No that’s the herpes virus, usually HSV-2. Which is a close relative, along with chicken pox. But all three of them are known to trigger a lot of autoimmune issues.

Are they planning to invade Mexico?

So much of the conception of “the right way to eat” is just disordered eating anyways, wrapped up in virtue. Clearly the one thing humans do well is adapt to the available foods in an area, which can be wildly different, and still thrive.

I will follow this mascot to the ends of the earth. All hail the pierogi!

I am so tired of nutrition propaganda from one group or another. I literally saw an article that mitochondria is about to be the new trendy buzzword and I buried my face in the blanket and yelled, yesterday. Clearly there are vegetarian cultures that have existed for generations. People just…😩

I still make meals thinking that there will be leftovers to take for lunch the next day and then stand there looking at my remnants like “wtf just happened here” and then I remember that I have a 13 and a 15 year old. It’s brutal.

I had foster babies and one of the oranges was a girl. She was fearless. People on the internet need to be willing to learn new things, that’s the problem.

I think the guy who developed lead additive to fuel did drink it to “prove” how safe it was, and then spent months recovering from acute lead poisoning that he knew he would get for his stunt.

Maybe this is why Ben Franklin wrote about hating those “swarthy Swedes”.

People would be much better off just trying to get a diversity of different plants they like on a daily basis but what do I know?🤷🏼‍♀️

I read the guy who got his finger bit off claims he was attempting to restrain a woman on the ground and put his hand under her armpit. His gloved hand. I don’t know about you but I have a hard time reaching my armpit with my mouth.

I tried this like 20 years ago and I decided that yelling at my radio was not healthy and stopped.

And they did say that the fascists have the outfits but they don’t care for the outfits.

I have the flu so I tried that but it did not help.

If you’re having a lot of digestive upset, depending on symptoms, they should be ruling out: autoimmune colon diseases like IBD; celiac disease; SIBO…if you feel like it’s more ARFID in presentation, there’s some really great work on interception and eating disorders using sensory deprivation tanks.

It’s a hard and fast rules that we get my kids each a book for Christmas. Sometimes it’s something they wanted, or something we know they’d love, sometimes it’s something we hope they’ll enjoy, but they’re getting a book (or multiple books in a set) to keep fostering that enjoyment.

I overheard my 15 year old and some friends gaming online mocking Charlie Kirk (my kid is loud, I wasn’t eavesdropping). I was like

I would add that school milk makes such a small percentage, if any, of a child’s caloric intake that it honestly doesn’t even matter. My teen actually loves whole milk and drinks a lot during growth spurts but at school they only drink water from their bottle anyways.

Tradition is fine if you’re looking for a particular flavor profile for nostalgia or educational purposes. It’s not fine when it’s being used to gatekeep if something is good. Immigrants brought gyros to Mexico and used what was available and now we have el Pastor. Food evolves and that’s fine.

Some colleagues and I were making predictions about the BS that would be in the new guidelines and I was 3/3 with my predictions: saturated fats are good, carbs are bad, and insanely increased protein recommendations. I’m not pleased to be correct, so much trendy bullshit here.

Your original point was to crap on all people who call themselves nutritionists, something the OP didn’t even do. I was merely correcting your inaccurate information regarding the regulation of the term. It is illegal to dispense medical nutrition therapy without a license in many states.
