Would the senate let USA use the military to attack Greenland? Would the generals obey? If he used executive orders would he get impeached?

I was hoping Trump was playing the long game.
Put pressure on the
VZ regime to bend so he can change it over time without a civil war. I very much doubt he has interest in anything beyond his 4 yrs bar a Nobel prize. We’re going to ‘fix’ Venezuela sums up his attitude to the people and democracy.

Let’s see how Venezuela pans out. Maybe Trump is not going to use a huge army and he may use the natives to do his bidding and use his navy to blockade if he doesn’t get his way replicating GB in our glory years. Thats if the US navy can catch those Rusky tankers!

Just need Trump to lift Putin now.
January 3, 2026 at 9:29 PM
It seems like a return to the days Great Britain was the world’s policeman. Is Trump willing to do that? UN proven to be a toothless tiger leaving a vacuum of power some country would step into. If it was China it could be worse. If Trump gets a lift of it he may become the bobby on the beat.

"He who seeks to deceive will always find someone who will allow himself to be deceived." Machiavelli 1513. Appears the people haven’t changed much

Pre 2022 Russia was held as a force to be reckoned with, respected for their might. Putin has humiliated the Russian nation showing their military might to be a sham. Putin has economically impoverished the Russian nation. Putin has murdered a generation of men yet the Slavs (Slaves) obey.

Reading Rory Stewart’s Occupational Hazards . Dull as dust. Enjoyed his Politics on the Edge and foolishly started this one. Have a happy Xmas and thanks for your work this year.

Trumps Gaza plan: no USA boots on the ground. He is relying on EU+ military to organise, police, oversee. Maybe some leverage for USA backed security guarantees and against crazy requests for Ukraine to cede land.

Nut jobs on the left and the right. Jack of the Green Party economic fantasies are quite unreal. Green Party should rename as the Flat
Earth
Party. Has social media deranged the world?

Last 6 weeks just been through same. My 94 yr old mother in law fell over and broke hip. NHS operated within 6hrs. Put on a ward specifically for ladies with broken hips and dementia. It’s tough at that age falling over and smashing themselves up. Like doing a round with Tyson at 94!

Thank you for the article. Unfortunately doesn’t alleviate my worries about Trump leaving Ukraine in the lurch. I’m pleased our gov didn’t let EU bully them into £5.7 billion. I’m sure we would have joined if we had been charged the Canadian rate of £8.5 million. Something amiss within the EU?
December 6, 2025 at 7:53 AM
No way. We have to show them for what they are. Centrists just need to get ahead of the game instead of playing defensive and catch up. In the U.K. whatever you think of Tories, their failure leads to Farage and likewise if Labour fail, as they are, you get the madness of Corbyn or Polanski.

What USA supplies to Ukraine that EU+ cannot supplement. Ie what effect on Ukraine if Trump walks. Many thanks.
December 4, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Trump may not want Putin to fail and Russia to disintegrate as he sees Putin as someone he can deal with; as opposed to who knows what and who he’d have to deal with. Disintegration will allow China to grab a slice of Eastern Russia. He may see Ukraine as small fry and the EU as easily manipulated.

Do you think this will prompt Germany to supply Taurus?
December 2, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Fingers crossed your right. Don’t forget to post it on Telegram.

Nice to see some kick back from Republicans. Senator Wicker showing dissent saying plan is flawed and even Majorie NutterTaylor Green voicing dissent and splitting with Trump is good news even if it’s not about Ukraine.

Crunch time for NATO? Double win for Putin splitting US from EU+
November 22, 2025 at 12:17 PM
This is a dangerous moment for Taiwan too. Taiwan should be getting behind Ukraine and giving them all those desperately needed components for drones and learning how to fight a superpower.
November 22, 2025 at 9:06 AM
It’ll be such a massive boost for EU and U.K. Israeli and South Korean arms industries if Trump pulls US weapons supply and prove US to be such an unreliable partner.
November 21, 2025 at 11:10 PM
Trumps treatment of Ukraine would make snuggling up to China seem like a far more palatable option and far less onerous. Hopefully some kickback from within the US and worldwide will reverse this idiocy.
November 21, 2025 at 10:45 PM
Still feel Biden and Team would have used anything from Epstein to undermine Trump if anything had been there. Maybe Trump is playing media and anyone not fully behind him knowing there’s nothing to incriminate him so he can look GREAT again.
November 18, 2025 at 7:20 PM
Could Germany be persuaded to supply a couple of Taurus just for the Shahid drone factories? They’re crowing about building EU’s biggest military and warning of possible war with Russia by 2028. That war is more likely if Ukraine is lost.
November 18, 2025 at 8:04 AM
Biden could have done this years ago. Useless Biden left the door open for Trump.
