Northwestern engineers are turning wastewater into a source of critical materials. 💧♻️

A new $2.7M ARPA-E project, N-PRIME, will use microbes to recover nitrogen + phosphorus and turn them into valuable products — cutting imports, boosting supply chains, and rethinking wastewater as a resource.
