With daily urine production of 0.6-1.8 L and life expectancy of 60 years, 1400 km3 = 30 - 100 billion people. Seems consistent with numbers that are floating about, but exponential population growth rate means small uncertainty in palaeo population size = enormous uncertainty in date of origin.

I'd just simplify this to "Don't use LLMs". I will not respond to emails that are clearly written by a robot and, as you say, many academics feel the same.

Honestly don't think it matters much because people will find it regardless, but EGUsphere is my favourite (by far) out of those listed.

It's a good summary of why the work was dubious, but the fact that this article was led by TMC is very problematic - particularly given that I can't see any conflict of interest statement. Not saying they're wrong, but the authors undeniably have a massive conflict of interest.
