what gets me is the lead: "A fatal shooting in Minneapolis on Wednesday launched an immediate information war, in which politicians drew lines and exchanged accusations long before they knew the facts."

We had eyewitness testimony, videos, and ICE's recent history. That's a lot of facts.

Worth noting he was already 68 when he was appointed.

I would throw in good public transit as one of the top contributors to good health: 30 minutes of light exercise vs 30 minutes in a car.

Notably, this is for chartered accountants (mostly non-US).

The remote testing was introduced during COVID and honestly I am shocked they kept it going this long. It is incredibly easy to cheat if you are taking a test in your bedroom (with or without ai).

You may have already tried this, but submitting a case to the Taxpayer Advocate Service does legit help with these things.

You could get a CPA or attorney to help, but if it's a processing issue on the IRS side then there is not much they can do besides create a case with the tas and do follow-ups

I remember looking at a grateful dead documentary/concert recording (70s?) and being blown away by how real the fans looked.

Hey, if we write out $1.3 billion with all the zeroes it looks bigger! I am sure this will cover:

$12,000,000,000 bailout for farmers hurt by tariffs
$170,000,000,000 ICE Budget
$40,000,000,000 Argentine bailout
$1,800,000,000,000 annual deficit

I think the secret is something like mcats, sats, CPA exams, the bar, etc. Basically highly known and reputable exams, learn however you want.

As someone who left a small town for college and jobs, i really wonder what that does to community. I made great friends in college but my social circle has never been larger than in high-school. Moving again for work compounds the issue. And if you stay it's just as bad because others leave.

The credential is awesome. My frustration is you have to have an accounting major or equivalent number of units in accounting to even sit for the CPA exams. I am not sure if it was always so.

A history major who passes the CPA exams is more qualified than an accounting major who does imo.

CPA credentials require a lot of accounting units so accounting majors are useful for bureaucratic licensing rules.

But every accounting class I took after the first 3 or 4 classes was mind numbingly repetitive or just low quality filler.

If Schumer stepped down as leader it would honestly be greeted with euphoria by democrats.

Maybe the one thing democrats can do to show they have a backbone.
