NYC Zoning & Land Use Counsel @ Rosenberg & Estis. I post about all things NYC zoning and politics (but not about my cases/clients).

(Opinions are my own, this is not legal advice, etc...)
Saving this one for posterity!
Thank you. Getting a response to a zoning post within 10 minutes reflects that this platform has arrived!

It's both, and we need to be able to deal with both at the same time. (Also, the uber-rich keep their offices and apartments here. They just make sure to spend 183 days elsewhere.)
Rich people aren't fleeing New York City. Working families are. What can we do? Double down on the programs & priorities that make life more livable & affordable for New Yorkers. With a 115 billion dollar budget, there are no excuses. We just need to get our priorities straight.

We need to build more housing in more neighborhoods. The City of Yes cannot be the City of Maybe Later.

We cannot possibly get out of this housing crisis if entire communities can simply opt out.

Here are the changes that got City of Yes approved

Most of the talk today will be about City of Yes. I’ll have more to say about that soon.

In the meantime, I’m going to celebrate this win after 7 years and two ULURPS.

Sounds like after leaking a deal, the council lost the votes for City of Yes. Everyone is back negotiating and will hopefully announce something later this afternoon.
