This is not just loud, sudden noises that cause the startle reflex, the noise intolerance is also anti-repetitive noises, competing noises and high pitches. Both ADHD and Autism work this way. As we get better at identifying it in ALL people, not just the stereotypical white males of both neurodivergences we will find more people that were never diagnosed until they struggle to complete most basic functions they previously could without problem.

Dissociation is a mental health term, disassociation is not.

Dissociation is a disconnection between a person’s thoughts, memories, feelings, actions or sense of who he or she is.

Disassociation to detach from association, as in to separate to set or force apart.

Word, not a very peopley person. Can know a lot about many very quickly. I learned how to analyze human behaviour before it was ever even a thought at a college or uni. I was a pro at it by age 3! I’ve only been wrong about anyone twice, they were both sociopaths. #neurodivergent #behavioranalysis

Some don’t have the luxury to not rest. I am one of those people. I have both physical and emotional disabilities, not allowing myself the rest I need is harmful. Normalize saying No to anything that is harmful to you.
