here are some of my favorites from this year
"Regret" presents Beatrice, a character from the animated series Over the Garden Wall. Beatrice was cursed after throwing a rock at a bluebird: all her 12 relatives, as well as her, were transformed into bluebirds. The illustration shows us her transformation, looking in shock and crying as her right arm transforms into a bird's wing. She stands in front of a dark forest, the deep orange of autumn slowly being consumed by cyan and blue. Flying around her and into the forest we spot 12 bluebirds. The illustration also brings a foot frame, with four pumpkins and Enoch - another character, the ruler of Potsfield - in the center. A black and white illustration of a basilisk, holding a human skull and wearing a regal mantle, with a black evil crown floating over its head. It's sitting on a throne made of stone with vines and plants creeping over it and a petrified human head at the top.
