My opinion after watching it? Whilst there should be a place for left wing Christians in any coalition against fascism, I hold deep distrust of the religious. The main bankrollers and vocal advocates for the marginalisation of queer people is Evangelical Christians after all.

I think there's a certain level of fear from people who grew up in RP and writing communities over the years. Nobody wants to be accused of writing a self insert. Even when you're writing an allegory for your own experiences, apparently.

I think that writing something genuine will often have bits of ourselves in there. The anger present in TBB is very much my own but directed towards a VERY different conclusion. The next protag has a lot of my despair so that's been...fun...to write.

It's why no character in my books will ever be any version of Kat.
