I think it's good that artists are coming over to bluesky, however I do worry that the things that make bluesky a better social media, make it a worse discoverability platform for artists.

one of the most annoying things about watching the proliferation of AI, is knowing the business model of every silicon valley company (operate at a loss to kill competition, then jack prices) and seeing that the primary selling point of AI being that it's cheaper than hiring an actual artist,

any nostalgia trend is multifaceted, but i think a lot of the appeal to cassette punk and a lot of the 70's and 80's revised futurism is the idea of a halcyon point in time where computerization and it's benefits exist, but without the degree of saturation in our lives.
