What are the chances that the phrase "I would like you to do us a favor" was uttered during this call?
So I am to believe that Trump's top priority right now is filling low-level legal roles in his administration, AND he needed to talk to Alito specifically about this one, AND neither man said ANYTHING else in a private call of which there is no record, got it, great abcnews.go.com/US/trump-spe...

No, Tony Gonzales. We do not have a prime minister. Prime Ministers are elected officials in parliamentary institutions. Elon Musk is an oligarch that has usurped our democracy by buying the corrupt man the Republicans made president.

It's not the same thing.

See this is what I'm saying.

Wikipedia is amazing. My goal for 2025 is to switch my Amazon prime off and spend the money there instead.
This is why Wikipedia's "everything that happened around the world on this date" pages alone are worth the price of donating to support them.
It would be so cool to actually have history books that laid out what was happening everywhere on the planet on the same timeline. And for the descriptions of each region to be written by region specific experts and not just western writers with their biases.

Tis the season and I keep trying to share Christmas movies with my kid.

He just wants to watch Sharkdog Halloween special.

I think Nightmare Before Christmas confused him on the reason for the season.

Following yesterday’s attack at the Christmas market in Germany Elon Musk called for German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to resign, tweeting: “Scholz should resign immediately. Incompetent fool.”

The attacker was later revealed to be a Musk fan and far-right AfD supporter, a party Musk had endorsed.

I think it's interesting how many articles I've seen that basically state Trump is a puppet president with Elon Musk pulling strings.

They don't say it in those words, necessarily. But I see more articles talking about Elon and Trump than I do Trump and Vance.

Welcome to US version of oligarchy.

I wish people would remember that Blue Ivy is a child. She is a child wearing a princess dress to her big event.

Say whatever you want about her parents, but why do people have to ruin her moment with all this judgement?

We’re not democrat loyalists. We just care about others, trust science, and believe in facts — and that just so happens to align with what that party proposes.

We’re for all Americans, even the ones who vote against their own interests and livelihood.

You draw a line and you say if you love me, you won't cross this line. And then everyone in your life just walks across the line without remarking on its passing.

And you watch the parade and wonder why no one ever loved you and if the only way to be loved is to never draw lines

This is such a crisis everywhere. Unless you’re lucky enough to live in Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and a few other places, the local reporting apparatus — a key piece of the social fabric — has been cut to complete ribbons.

I love #Wikipedia and specific news outlets like the #Atlantic and the #Guardian and the #Bulwark.

It's my goal for 2025 to financially support the organizations that are a light in the darkness.

We need them to remain unbiased and zealous and free to speak the truth.

1) TIL about gish galloping - tell me if this sounds familiar:

The Gish gallop is a rhetorical technique in which a person in a debate attempts to overwhelm an opponent by presenting an excessive number of arguments, with no regard for their accuracy or strength..

It's that time of year. I made it through Thanksgiving but I'm gonna have to go stay in a hotel room by myself so I don't ruin Christmas for everyone.

Holidays are great with the ones you love but it's tough when they aren't able to be there anymore.

So to summarize, according to #maga, any Black, gay or trans person who achieves any position, no matter how degreed or credentialed they are is an unqualified #dei hire. And any white person, however unqualified or even sketchy is inherently qualified when they get a job. Do I have that right?

On this date in 2017, retired general Michael Flynn, who served as President Donald Trump’s first national security adviser, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about reaching out to the Russians on Trump’s behalf. No deep state, no coercion. He pleaded guilty.
