Yeah, preaching to the choir.

The irony that our getting more and more anarchist/socialist as we get older is directly caused by the very people who look down on us for it never ceases to frustrate me, though.

Most folks I know under 50 are struggling just to survive, even those with 'good' jobs.

Long gone are the days when you could buy a house and live comfortably on a single, working-class income. But a lot of older folks are still convinced we're just not trying hard enough 🙃

In my city, you need a minimum annual income of AU$120k per adult to not be in rental distress (I think the median income was about 60? Minimum wage 35ish, and welfare 15-20).

Rent and groceries have both doubled in the past 6 years, and our median house price just ticked past $1million.

We still have an absolute fraction of the generational wealth at our age vs folks the same age 50 years ago, so it's hard to compare.

You *used* to acquire more money, power, and privilege as you got older.

However the boomers have just acquired more and more and left the generations after them with nothing 🙃

Fun fact: Your body actually processes more nutrients from food when you enjoy eating them!

I also used to work at most music festivals and pop culture conventions, including photography, rider, artist liaison, etc, and a few crew/artist after-parties, but I didn't know who most of them were, so 🤷‍♀️

Oh, and I've worked in cafes/bars/pubs and served quite a few local (Perth) AFL legends.
