Thx!

p.s. I will be rebranding this soon to actually reflect its use for NZ:P, just been too busy working on the game itself lol

Blah blah, basically if you want to be included in the secret in-game acknowledgement we're planning, and want to help fund project expansion and maintenance, you can subscribe to any tier of the Patreon (can be one-time, no commitment) through Dec. 19th and you will be added to the acknowledgement

I don’t really shill it anymore but as a reminder people who have donated to the project through patreon directly fund the cost of things such as the domain and neocities hosting, and in the future the Patreon will also serve to fund dedicated servers when its time to work on those

I'm always open to these sorts of things in a non-obtrusive way (which is why the game has Black Ops perks). It's just a battle between facilitating features in a way that doesn't interfere with NZ:P's identity, and crafting them specifically so mappers can engage with them in interesting ways!

Please note this is FTE specific currently due to our Vril engine unification effort, but the backbone is there and once that is done, FEVER is a simple switch flip :)

I’m planning on adding support for a few more holiday face lifts to FEVER throughout the next year, so stay tuned!

Do you hate limited time themes and modes? Or mad that I'm releasing this only a week before October ends? Me too (for both)! That’s why as an additional Accessibility feature, you are able to manually spoof what month of the year the server thinks it is. It can be Halloween all year if you want :D
October 26, 2025 at 4:43 AM
Also, functionality has been added for user map creators to have festive, month-based visuals on their own. They can either opt to make them Game Mode specific like the official FEVER maps, or global!

On top of the CW functionality, FEVER is also a space for fun Holiday events without compromising the theme of maps in Classic. All maps have general special visuals and audio related to Halloween for October, and all four official maps get a Fall-themed facelift (yes, it’s just pumpkins lol)

NOOO!! I hear you shout... I HATE LOOT! I HATE ARMOR! I HATE SALVAGE!

I do too :3 none of which are featured here. Most of the changes are on a fundamental level, such as Perk-A-Cola behaviors, Zombie aggression, etc. though with some more intrusive things such as a three-tiered Pack-A-Punch system

FEVER is the result of a month long experiment expanding the NZ:P server's functionality and gearing up for eventual data-driving capabilities for user maps. It started out as adding some basic aesthetic changes for Halloween, but progressively evolved and ballooned into a pseudo-Cold War mode.

First, a short video of the mode. Emphasis on short, this originally was 25 minutes. Blame OBS.

These builds are much more annoying to maintain as they are not running on the new Vril tech and function much differently under the hood, so it's easy to overlook changes (this is also why it's falling behind with some QoL stuff). They're effectively on life support until Vril is ported to them.
