#StationNews: Te Awa Kairangi have started building a temporary park and ride at Petone Station to mitigate the impacts of the Melling station closure.

The car park will have over 100 spaces and will be available from December until 2031.

#TransportNews: Auckland Transport have installed a solar powered wireless charger into the seats of stop 7034 on Fanshawe Street.

The charger appears to replace the ‘middle bench seat’ at this stop.

#FerryNews: Thames-Coromandel District Council contractors are replacing the gangway surface, including the ramp and top landing at Ferry Landing in Whitianga.

The ramp will get new aluminium sheets and marine carpet.

Works occur 14-16 October between 9:30 AM and 3 PM each day.

Humm Breakfast will broadcast live from the Diwali bus on 9 October and AT will be on board to hand out Diwali bus models and Indian sweets to customers as they tag off.

#RailNews: KiwiRail has begun working at level crossings at various locations across the Wairarapa region.

In Waingawa, crews are building a second section of track alongside the main line to support the separation of freight and commuter train services.

#RailNews: Before the City Rail Link opens, Auckland Transport will paint broken yellow lines on Manuroa Rd at Princess St and Oakleigh Ave and between Challen Close, Manuia Rd and Manuroa Rd.

On Great South Rd and Walters Rd roundabout, do not block hatching will be painted.

#FerryNews: Interislander recently allowed the New Zealand Police specialist units to undertake a tactical training exercise onboard the laid-up Aratere.

The units carried out a simulated emergency response, approaching by boat and scaling the side of the ship to board.

#BusNews: Westfield Newmarket's Visitors Shuttle has dropped its Commercial Bay stop in favour of a stop at SkyCity.

The SkyCity stop is located on Federal Street.

First pickup and drop off is 10:00 am with the last at 4:00 pm.

The services will operate until City Rail Link opens, they will then be reviewed.

#RailNews: Rangitīkei District Council is concerned about more damage to the Napier-Taihape Rd if logging trucks return to.

At present, logs are transported by rail to Napier’s port but that arrangement is scheduled to finish in January.

* Add a new bus stop at 20-26 Neville Street (near the RSA and town centre)

The AT Diwali bus can be tracked on the AT Mobile app by tapping the bus/star icon at top right of screen.

The bus is running journeys all of October.

Crews installed 55 piles & support beams for the platform extension & started perimeter works for the third platform.
