Poor Americans become communists when their personal survival is threatened. Rich Americans become Nazis when their personal wealth is threatened. When things settle down, they both pretend it never happened and start calling themselves moderates again.

Never in a million years will I sympathize with liberals who cheered for Kamala when she promised a more lethal military, more money for Israel, and tougher border control. Y'all were willing to let the most vulnerable people suffer for your own convenience. You deserve exactly what's happening now.

Seeing Democrats cheering for Booker reminds me that political illiteracy is an American problem, not just a Republican problem. Booker is a Zionist and 100% in line with Pelosi, Schumer, and every other spineless establishment Dem. He also didn't filibuster anything. Please have higher standards.

I sincerely hope self-driving Teslas fail so utterly that lidar becomes an industry standard, purely so that economy of scale brings the prices down to the point where I can afford one for the purpose of mapping the ballistic trajectories of nerf darts. I have been waiting 10 years for this.

If a leftist ever becomes president, they'll need to meet the far right with overwhelming force in order to set themselves apart from the spineless centrist Democrats. That's why it can't be Bernie. He had to take the high ground and give them a chance to compromise. They should have taken it.

Sometimes I think about carrying one of my guinea pigs over to the fridge and opening the vegetable drawer so that they can understand the origin of the food sound and see more bell peppers than they can comprehend. I imagine it would be like when Moses glimpsed God and went blind.

Americans who didn't see a problem with the Democratic establishment deserved this. If they still refuse to understand the problem, they deserve whatever happens next. Embrace the left wing or die waving your little signs.

Russia wants to mediate between Iran and the US. So who's about to betray who? Is Trump going to throw Netanyahu under the bus for Putin, or is Putin about to strong-arm Iran? Does Israel's cooperation with pro-Putin EU right wing parties mean they've already made some kind of deal with Russia?

Calling it now: When the dollar tanks, Trump supporters are going to claim it's a deliberate strategy to compete against China and make American goods more attractive to import. Then they're going to say we're not real Americans if we're not willing to work in Gilded Age factory conditions.

If progressives are going to win future elections, it won't be by convincing the same tired ass centrist Democrats to vote differently. We need to pull angry working-class Trump voters. We both want labor rights and we both want to take down the establishment Democrats. Start from there.

Every engineering-related Facebook short has an awful comment section full of Dunning Kruger comments and angry corrections to those comments. Whether intentional or not, it's rage bait rather than educational content, and it makes me sad that I can't just enjoy some engineering animations in peace.

Failure is the currency of scientific progress. You want to invent a light bulb? That'll be several hundred failures. Pioneer flight? Thousands of failures. Discover radiation? Just one failure, but it's going to really suck.

It is in the interests of governments and tech corporations to make the internet as hostile as possible to the average user, until they are the only ones with a budget sufficient to provide cybersecurity. Once convenience isn't enough of a reason to forfeit your data, fear will work just as well.

Anime Rogues: For 20 years, I've trained to deflect blades with my voluminous eyelashes! I'm too fast for you to ever defeat! Give up!
D&D Rogues: I'm not actually very fast, I just drugged you earlier. Also, that gold I paid you was actually snakes. There are snakes in your pockets now.

If B. F. Skinner had been born in Germany, he would be remembered as the quintessential Nazi scientist. Instead, he ended up on the winning side, so his psychotic bullshit is celebrated even as it's debunked by real scientists like Frans de Waal.

The reason people love a good villain redemption arc is because it's a version of the 'enemies to lovers' trope in which the audience gets to participate.

Historical timelines that just present dates and events are as meaningless as a random set of numbers. But once you have the formula, all the numbers make sense, and most importantly, you can guess the next number in the sequence. We rarely do this for history, but it's sorely needed.

A toddler at my office asked his mom to make him a peanut butter and jealous sandwich. This is the greatest thing I've heard a toddler say since my nephew referred to Pikachu as 'yellow Baby Yoda'.

If your Western country threatens to vote in fascists every time there's an economic downturn, it doesn't care about democracy. Democracy is simply a luxury for a time when the West can comfortably dominate its former colonies. Once that balance is threatened, it's right back to imperialism.

I think part of the appeal of guinea pigs is that their mouths look way less like a rodent's and more like one of those Medieval cat paintings made by a monk who had cats described to him by a drunk pilgrim.

It's really annoying when the takeaway from Jurassic Park is "don't do risky science", when it should be "don't leave science in the unsupervised hands of deranged billionaires with no accountability".

I eat grapes one at a time, straight out of the bag in the fridge. I don't have a set amount in mind, I just go until the fridge door timer yells at me. It's the closest I'll ever get to the rush of being a cheeky little mammalian ovivore raiding a dinosaur nest.
