COVID is never going to be over.
Climate change may be the death of all.
Biology/Botany/Geology and weirdly enough, Accounting?
My youngest thinks I'm a reptilian overlord & we're both artists.
Wow.

Not brass. Chrome and brass. The moment I realized what I was dealing with, I took great care to not restore too much. Just enough patina to show its age but not so much that it's unrecognizable.
Probably Maison Bagues.

God I love what I do for a hobby. I find beauty things that were forgotten.

I found a beauty thing. At first it looked like just another cheap brass table but its balance of design stopped me. The tempered glass? Thick, beautiful and subtly colored. That finish that looked like worn brass? Too light of color.

Snipped from Reddit. Someone accidentally drove into the local 7-11. Grocery run the other night showed a bunch of high risk maneuvers by drivers. Combine that with my experience w the v crazy driver that nearly struck me 3 times have to wonder if this is the flavor of the current wave of COVID?
February 1, 2026 at 9:28 PM
To the "anecdotal evidence" person, I pointed out the two articles discussing the research & provided them with the wastewater surveillance data showing the protracted waves of COVID that likely were outbreaking in schools during that time. We're a good state that does try to stay home when sick.

Increased risk taking behaviors? Executive function impairment affecting spatial awareness?

I really hate living not far from train tracks but at least this one wasn't trapped on the track and didn't result in the crossing arm getting struck by the train.

Never seen green gas in any so-called LTL weaponry. Anybody ever see this before? Spotted on Reddit.

My fancy new ankle after my trimalleolar breaks.

Her name is Lif of Ragnarok. We knew there was a reason why this werecat wannabe needed saving from the shelter. (Forgive our kitchen. We were in the process of renovation that was paused due to surgeries. )

Might need to change her description from werecat to meercat. IDK.

Happy Caturday.

Just had my 1 year post op. Total success. Everything is fusing very well. He laughed about how I ended up with more metal in my ankle this time. His recommendation: stop needing metal in my body and aim for medals instead. Lol

Well, we've entered the timeline where even the free animated movie options on YT are depressing. 👀

Overlay collage on mass shootings in the US by my uncle, Robert Wagoner. It's a gut punch but a needed one. He's a retired architect & artist. Alt text has his caption and comments about it along w the description.

We really need to do something about gun violence.

1 year Post op CT scan of my spinal fusion is in. No failures. No fracture. Screws firmly in place. Hardware in place. Optimal results!

Don't have a pic of the most recent imaging but this is what was wrong & what my fab neurosurgeon did to correct it.

The face of a woman who broke her ankle in 3 places, suffered complications from anesthesia, intestinal complications and a severe allergic reaction to the meds.

I'm victorious but also so very done with all that noise. No more complications, tyvm.

If you're a cat owner, you know exactly what she was doing regardless of the innocent act.

Even with broken ankles, cats are gonna cat.

Happy Caturday! Just woke from my nap to my Lif snoozing on the guard kitty job. She's been watching over me with my broken ankle for days.

They made a mini gurney for my ankle as they lifted me, screening, onto the actual gurney. The remainder of my walk in the park was strapped on a gurney & hating every bump.

Trimalleolar fracture, oblique and vertical.

First bone I've ever broken in my life. Radiologist called me an overachiever.

But then my left foot started sliding on the leaves, down the slope. I tried to ground my step by pushing down firmly only to hear a sound like a gunshot crack. I managed to ease onto my side as I slid down, leg first, the slope to near the water's edge.

Something red caught my eye and it was an even prettier mushroom. I trudged my way through the leaves on the ground to take a few pictures of it. But then, I saw another even more beautiful mushroom just a little bit further away.
November 21, 2025 at 5:19 AM
As I walked along the path, I spotted a tremendous orange and cream mushroom the size of a salad plate. In awe, I ventured off of the path to take a picture of it.

The rain was coming down in a nice drizzle, making everything misty and vaguely ominous. I should've turned back but did I?

No.

It was a dark and stormy day on the pond. I was out checking the wildlife out there and stopping to take my usual pictures. Started out portentous when I spotted the blue heron on the small island in the pond.
