You’re suggesting that because not all movies based on SK novels are *timeless classics*, his books are very hard to film. Based on this standard, which author’s books are *not* hard to film?

Wha? Like his first 10 books were made into movies, mostly pretty good ones. The Dead Zone, The Shining, Carrie, Firestarter, Cujo, Salem’s Lot, etc. Seems like his books are practically screenplays as written - not like James Joyce or something.

Should’ve kept Sam Darnold - he took the Vikings’ 14 wins with him to Seattle.

The Red Riding quartet by David Peace. a.co/d/fqcZBfH. Very dark, dreamy Northern English crime fiction. Reminiscent of 2666 by Robert Bolaño, also recommended.

I.M. Pei, Phillip Johnson, Mies van der Rohe, Louis Sullivan are all as famous as Frank Gehry, IMO. Gehry was only known for academic deconstructed chain link stuff before he came up with the metallic flame buildings that were the New Hotness 1995-2010. As much branding as architecture.

It’s like someone is stabbing you repeatedly, but because you’re not dead yet, you’re not a murder victim. You manage to yell “help! murder!” and officer Tom arrives and says “Yes we know he’s a murderer, but you’re being inaccurate and alarmist.”

This is just a distraction from Latitia James’ real crime of getting a slightly better interest rate on a mortgage by writing “This is not my primary residence” on her application.

You’ve shown correlation like 5 ways, but you’re implying causation, as if we can slow down traffic and higher income will result. There are a lot of relevant differences between Boston/San Francisco and Houston/Phoenix other than traffic speed: population, age, rate of growth, geography, etc.

About half of them do, but it’s not enough. Like if only half the population was anti-murder.

The implicit solution is to stop building highways because people will keep choosing the new, remote housing they facilitate. I.e. don’t let people have what they want because sprawl is inherently bad, and preventing sprawl is more important than allowing suburbanites’ lifestyle choices.

It’s what some portion of the population keeps choosing so I have to assume they “want” it. Maybe they “want” a 4000sf house with a yard right in the heart of the city for $250k, but that option isn’t available, so they choose (and keep choosing, for decades) the big house over the urban amenities.
