The best steps we can take right now are: 1. Share accurate information. 2. Make sure children are not frightened into “self-deporting.” 3. Keep copies of any letters or emails you receive and contact your lawyer immediately before signing or sending anything.
📩 Notice would come in the form of a letter or email from the child’s immigration officer, not by ICE showing up at schools.
ICE might send letters trying to scare families into withdrawing the child’s asylum application, even threatening parents with consequences if they refuse.
👉 What does “unaccompanied” mean? These are minors who: • arrived in the U.S. alone without their parents, • are currently in children’s detention centers, • or have already been placed with sponsor relatives or foster care.
ICE may be targeting “unaccompanied” immigrant children in operation called “Freaky Friday”

Reports of feds taking people off the street in the Chicago area continue to come in. This video, shared around 10 a.m., shows at least 3 agents involved in arresting at least 1 man in front of a shop in Chicago's Belmont Cragin neighborhood. One agent seems to be photo'ing/recoding the incident.
