I was thinking I’d like to try pottery.

2/n your manager’s approval to work (and get paid) on those specific days. I never heard of it before this job. Movies: we did see the most recent Knives Out. I like murder mysteries. Also: started watching really old “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” from the 1950s. #OCDTalkHour

Curtailment is when the employer wants to save money during a slow period (I work at a uni) so the give some holidays but they tell non-essential personnel they won’t get paid for some of the days. So either one uses up some vacay days or, doesn’t get paid for those days. You need 1/2 #OCDTalkHour

2/n “leaving soon” Spoiler alert: You didn’t miss anything. Oh, speaking of Xmas movies, I had forgotten (did I ever know?) the original “Lethal Weapon” where Mel Gibson acts like a nutjob, whut? He’s not acting? Anyway it takes place during the Yuletide season. OCD? I still have it. #OCDTalkHour

Hi April (!) (and everyone else),
It was nice to have two full weeks off work (even if half of them were “curtailment”), but I was nursing another pesky cold (or something) most of the time. I also missed the last couple of these meet-ups. We watched a lot movies that were 1/n

2/n relief. Later (over a year) I was able to join a CBT group and received coaching and support for ERP. This was back in the early to mid-1990s and most of the available books were not particularly helpful or insightful. I would say get the best professional help you can find #OCDTalkHour

I guess my point of view is slightly outdated. My symptoms had been worsening for several decades before I heard that SSRIs had helped some sufferers. At the urging of a good friend I sought a formal diagnosis. Whatever trepidations I had about meds evaporated when I experienced 1/n #OCDTalkHour

3/n him, very nice, easy going, just retired from the Fire Department, but: doesn’t enjoy going out to theatres or shows very much and HAS TO SIT ON THE AISLE #relatable In other news, got our Xmas tree and even decorated it. Next: hanging outdoor lights. #OCDTalkHour

Whoops, that should say 1/n and _THIS_ should say 2/n. Went out last night with old friends to see musical “We Will Rock You” which was fun, Spoiler alert: all the songs are by Queen. ALSO: realized the husband has OCD (or similar) just never disclosed. I’ve always got along with #OCDTalkHour

Aw shucks, thanks Lucy, I am blushing over here (in the freezing icy cold snap—just bought our Xmas tree yesterday).

I’m getting by. Recovering from a cold that hit hard at the end of last week. Been doing some editing of posts to this year’s Perl Advent Calendar—basically a geekfest, so I am learning a lot. Hey, you know it was Andy’s birthday the other day (Scarfman Andy) #OCDTalkHour

?!?! I thought it was going to be you, but I’m not really in the loop. Pretty much I mainly log into BlueSky on Tue to see what’s up and then on WED during #OCDTalkHour

Excellent! You da Man, Sam! That sounds so powerful. Congratulations. If it works once, it will continue to work. That is really great. As for the other stuff in your life, you showed up, and you’re doing your best (I am certain) #OCDTalkHour
