Trump is consolidating dictatorial powers that will allow him to either cancel the elections or declare the results himself.
There are powerful forces who want him to succeed. They will not bail.

Yes, we do need to "hit the streets period." But people already know how to protest, as shown by No Kings 1 and 2.
The real problem is that they're hoping to be saved by elections.
Once people break that illusion, they'll need to focus on the capital city ASAP—because that's where the power lies.
