And especially with a ship that is frequently mistagged for 3way interactions that are entirely heterosexual in nature. It is extra salt in the wound and I know this happens frequently in BG3 because I see it left and right. If they're not a couple, don't tag them.

There's this really weird pretzel twisting of stuff in BG3 to have individual people claim "ownership" over it and y'know what? I'm over it. I also find it really disingenuous to "recycle" a queer ship like this when so much het content dominates this fandom.

And I really also don't need this weird attempt to put fingerprints on this sort of thing. Especially when it's repeating dynamics and context of... the original ship. So it's just been recreated now, to tie it into some context neither wanted or needed, while taking the label of [ship].

And this behavior is absolutely more prevalent in circles around certain characters and among certain fans and I will say that with my whole chest. It's been bad enough that I was documenting some of it when posting my rarepair longfic because like, we DO see you in the tags with your shit takes...

A thousand percent! Also just like... why do you need to say this out in public lol. This is exactly why we have DMs with the fandom bestie. But I think people want to be validated for their (shitty) opinions especially when they confront people who ship or like the thing they claim not to like.

This. Or when they tag shit with the ship tag just to complain they don’t like or don’t think it’s realistic or ask people to justify it to them. Like why do you think you can come into my house and tell me you don’t like it? I’ve seen people do it with character tags too
