Charlie, I am of the opinion that we would have a stronger democracy in Canada with a proportional representation system so all would have a voice and every vote really would matter. Thoughts?

A true well functioning democracy is one in which everyone has a vote that can make a difference.Proportional representation can get us there and can help us avoid politicians gaining excessive power with limited actual support from voters.

And let’s talk about proportional representation so every vote counts and we can avoid the contemptuous divisive polarization of politics that doesn’t serve the needs of citizens.

(I’m thinking about how the notwithstanding clause has been used by premiers to deprive transgender kids of healthcare based on science and the advice of their medical teams) and in general the attacking of rights and freedoms and the normalizing of stigma and bigotry towards vulnerable groups.
